Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

Location: Central London (with overseas projects)

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Are you a Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in site investigations and contractor‑led projects, looking for opportunities to work both in the UK and abroad?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well‑established ground engineering contractor based in Central London. This role is heavily site‑focused, offering hands‑on involvement in ground investigations, supervision, and delivery of projects overseas alongside UK‑based works.

You will work closely with drilling teams, subcontractors, and project managers, gaining exposure to a wide range of ground conditions and investigation techniques across international infrastructure and development projects.

The Role

As the Geotechnical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and managing site investigations in the UK and overseas
  • Overseeing drilling, sampling, and in‑situ testing (CPTs, trial pits, boreholes)
  • Logging soil and rock to current standards
  • Coordinating site teams, plant, and subcontractors
  • Liaising with clients, engineers, and project managers on site
  • Contributing to factual and interpretative reporting where required
About You
  • Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or similar
  • Experience working for a ground investigation contractor or site‑based consultancy
  • Strong understanding of site investigation techniques and ground conditions
  • Confident working independently on site
  • Willingness to travel internationally for project work
