Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Geography Teacher for a Hull-based alternative provision, starting from October half term. The role focuses on delivering Geography across the secondary curriculum, supporting SEMH needs and maintaining calm classroom management.

You should hold QTS or an equivalent qualification, have experience with SEMH/SEND pupils, and be able to differentiate lessons while building strong relationships with students.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Have previous experience working with pupils with SEMH / SEND needs.
• Be confident managing challenging behaviour using positive and consistent strategies.
• Build strong, professional relationships with pupils.
• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Geography lessons.
• Have high expectations of pupil progress and behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons across the secondary Geography curriculum.
• Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils and create a supportive classroom environment.
• Maintain high expectations of pupil progress and behaviour and work as part of a wider school team.
