Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage classroom behaviour per school policies.
• Assess pupil progress and provide feedback as required.
• Contribute to the wider Humanities department.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school expectations.

Smile Education are recruiting for a Geography Teacher to work within a secondary school in Oldham. This role is suitable for a qualified Geography Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4.

The Role

As a Geography Teacher, you will plan and deliver Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 depending on the placement. You will support pupils in developing geographical knowledge, map skills, fieldwork understanding, environmental awareness and confidence applying key concepts. You will be expected to maintain strong classroom routines, manage behaviour effectively and contribute positively to the wider Humanities department.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Prepare pupils for GCSE Geography where required.
• Teach in line with the national curriculum and school expectations.
• Support pupils in developing subject knowledge, analytical thinking and geographical skills.

Requirements

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification is essential.
• Experience teaching Geography within a UK secondary school is required.
• Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 Geography is essential.
• KS5 Geography experience is desirable but not essential.
• ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.
• You must be reliable, professional and confident managing behaviour.
• You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
• You must have the right to work in the UK.
