Harris Academy Falconwood is looking for an exceptional Head of Geography to lead the department, raise student attainment and develop a strategic curriculum. You will teach Geography across the age range, drive school improvement and work with senior leaders to shape professional development and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, and, ideally, management training.
• Demonstrate successful teaching of GCSE at good or better level.
• Experience of initiating and effectively managing change.
• Evidence of raising achievement and value-added for groups.
• Knowledge of current curriculum developments in Geography.”

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Geography department.
• Raise standards of attainment across the curriculum area and monitor progress.
• Ensure a broad, relevant and differentiated Geography program in line with academy policies.
• Teach Geography to a range of ages and abilities.
• Manage staff, finances and resources within the department.
• Support safeguarding and professional growth across the team.
