Axiom Personnel Ltd is seeking a Generator Service Engineer to join our established team in the UK. You will maintain and troubleshoot diesel generators up to 2.5 MW, diagnose faults, and ensure safe, compliant operation across industrial and commercial settings.

The role requires solid diagnostic skills, a full UK driving licence, and a proactive, customer-focused approach. You will participate in an on-call rota and may be involved in installations and commissioning as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience servicing and maintaining diesel generators in standby or rental sectors.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willing to participate in the on-call rota (1 in 7 weeks).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance on standby generators up to 2.5 MW.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs promptly.
• Complete site reports and documentation to a high standard.
• Liaise with customers to provide excellent service.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with installations and commissioning when required.
• Participate in on-call rota for emergency and weekend/out-of-hours work.

Generator Service Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Engineer to join our clients established team.

Description

A Generator Service Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical generators and associated power generation systems. They ensure reliable and efficient performance of generators in industrial, commercial, or utility settings by conducting inspections, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and implementing repairs or upgrades. Generator Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and servicing on standby generators up to 2.5 MW
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs in a timely and efficient manner
• Complete site reports and documentation to a high standard
• Liaise with customers to provide excellent service and support
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
• Assist with installations and commissioning where required
• Participate in an on-call rota for emergency support and planned weekend work and out-of-hours support when required.
