Job summary

Military Medical Personnel is seeking a Locum Doctor (General Practitioner with Aviation Medicine Qualification) to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence at RAF Marham Medical Centre, King's Lynn, Norfolk. You will conduct PHC clinics for military personnel and perform OH assessments within your scope.

Applicants must be GMC-registered without restrictions, hold a Diploma in Aviation Medicine or RAF MAME, be on the NHS Performers List, and maintain safeguarding certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) on the main register and on GMC GP Register without restrictions.
• Diploma in Aviation Medicine or RAF Military Aviation Medicine Examiner (MAME) Course completed.
• Must be in date with GMC Good Medical Practice and safeguarding training (Level 3).
• Must be on the UK NHS Performers List and provide NHS Performer number.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Primary Healthcare clinics for Military and entitled personnel.
• Examinations and Occupational Health assessments within scope of experience and qualification.
• Inform local medical authority of cases affecting serviceman duties.
• Complete reports per MOD policy or other government department requirements.

Job description

We are looking for a Locum Doctor (General Practitioner with Aviation Medicine Qualification) to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at RAF Marham Medical Centre, in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

• Undertake Primary Healthcare (PHC) clinics for Military and entitled personnel.


• Examinations and Occupational Health (OH) assessments within the locum doctors scope of experience and qualification.


• To inform the local medical authority of any case that may affect a servicemans ability to undertake their duties.


• To complete reports and documentation in accordance with MOD policy or the requirements of any other government department.


• To attend individual management reviews or case conferences with Primary Healthcare (PHC) and/or line management as required.
  General Practitioners must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) both on the main register and on the GMC GP Register without Restrictions.


• Diploma in Aviation Medicine or have completed the RAF Military Aviation Medicine Examiner (MAME) Course.


• Must have a current, satisfactory in date annual appraisal in line with the requirements of the General Medical Councils (GMCs) Good Medical Practice (GMP).


• Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.


• Must be on the UK NHS Performers List and provide an NHS Performer number.
