Job summary

Locum Doctor (GP with Aviation Medicine) needed for MOD assignment at RAF Valley Medical Centre, Holyhead, Anglesey. You will cover PHC clinics, perform occupational health assessments and report in line with MOD policies. Ensure GMC registration on main and GP lists, hold Aviation Medicine credentials, and provide NHS Performer number.

Role is 43 hours per week with pay options PAYE £63.11/hour or Sole Trader £72.58/hour. Full compliance with safeguarding and GMC GMP is required.

• GPs must be registered with the GMC on the main register and the GMC GP Register without restrictions.
• Diploma in Aviation Medicine or completion of the RAF MAME course.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a Locum Doctor (General Practitioner with Aviation Medicine Qualification) to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at RAF Valley Medical Centre, in Holyhead, Anglesey.

• Undertake Primary Healthcare (PHC) clinics for Military and entitled personnel.
• Examinations and Occupational Health (OH) assessments within the locum doctors scope of experience and qualification.
• To inform the local medical authority of any case that may affect a servicemans ability to undertake their duties.
• To complete reports and documentation in accordance with MOD policy or the requirements of any other government department.
• To attend individual management reviews or case conferences with Primary Healthcare (PHC) and/or line management as required.
  General Practitioners must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) both on the main register and on the GMC GP Register without Restrictions.
• Diploma in Aviation Medicine or have completed the RAF Military Aviation Medicine Examiner (MAME) Course.
• Must have a current, satisfactory in date annual appraisal in line with the requirements of the General Medical Councils (GMCs) Good Medical Practice (GMP).
• Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.
• Must be on the UK NHS Performers List and provide an NHS Performer number.
