Practice Plus Group in the UK is seeking an Out of Hours GP to join our Warwickshire OOH service. You will deliver urgent, patient-centred assessments during evenings, nights, and weekends across multiple sites, including Nuneaton, Coventry, Rugby, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon and Shipston-on-Stour.

The role offers flexible shifts, a supportive multidisciplinary team, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

  • GMC registration and UK licence to practice required.
  • Experience in Out of Hours settings essential.
  • Proficient with Adastra for patient records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical assessments and management for urgent care outside normal hours across base and home visits.
  • Manage a varied caseload including acute minor illnesses, injuries, and chronic condition exacerbations.
  • Record consultations and notes using the Adastra clinical system.
  • Collaborate with nurses, paramedics, and admin staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Make referrals and liaise with secondary care services to ensure patient safety.
  • Participate in clinical audits, governance activities, and CPD.

Our OOH service is open from 18.30‑08.00 Monday to Friday and 24 hours over the weekend. We can offer a range of sessions to allow you to flexibly choose the right shift pattern for you.

Main duties of the job

Providing comprehensive clinical assessments and management for patients requiring urgent care outside of normal surgery hours across base working and home visitations

Managing a varied caseload including acute minor illnesses, injuries, and chronic condition exacerbations.

Utilizing the Adastra clinical system to accurately record consultations and clinical notes.

Working collaboratively with healthcare colleagues, including nurses, paramedics, and administrative staff, to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.

Making appropriate referrals, liaising with secondary care services, and ensuring patient safety through effective clinical decision-making.

Participating in clinical audits, governance activities, and continuous professional development.

About us

Fully qualified General Practitioner with GMC registration and relevant UK licence to practice.

Previous experience working in an Out of Hours setting is essential.

Proven experience using the Adastra clinical system for patient record management.

Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to manage a diverse and often complex caseload.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
