Job summary

Practice Plus Group is expanding its Out Of Hours (OOH) and Clinical Assessment service (CAS) in Devon. We are seeking General Practitioners to cover OOH sites across Exeter, Tiverton, Honiton, Okehampton, Newton Abbot, Totness, Barnstaple and Plymouth.

The role involves assessing patients, planning their care, administering treatment and discharging or referring to other healthcare professionals via primary care centres and home visits, with access to our electronic prescribing system.

Qualifications

• GPs sought with ambition and commitment.
• Assess patients, plan care, administer treatment and refer when needed.
• Flexible working options with daytime, evening or overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and plan their care, including treatment and discharge or referral.
• Utilise electronic prescribing system to manage medications.
• Cover OOH sites across Devon and provide timely urgent care.

During my GP training the part which I enjoyed the most was the out-of-hours (OOH) element with Harmoni (which later became Care UK, now the Practice Plus Group). With no administrative tasks, bloods to file, documents to check, it was as close to the acute care as a GP could get.
