An exciting opportunity has arisen in our UHBW Dental Production Laboratories for a forward-thinking Dental Technician to join our Orthodontic Laboratory team at Bristol Dental Hospital.

The post involves designing, planning, and constructing a range of custom dental/oro-facial devices within the orthodontic laboratory, which includes Prosthodontics, Conservation, Orthodontics, and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

The role requires developing new skills aligned with experience, practices, qualifications, and modern digital workflows, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Applicants must be fully registered with the General Dental Council and possess a recognized academic qualification in dental technology. We welcome applications from dental technicians with experience in both commercial dental laboratories and NHS hospital settings.

• Construct models for diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Create, repair, and adapt various dental/oro-facial appliances.
• Familiarity with transfer records, articulators, and occlusal techniques.
• Analyze treatment plans and redesign as needed.

• Manage stock ordering and maintain laboratory records for audits and compliance.
• Perform basic maintenance of equipment.
• Support research, surveys, and service audits.
• Follow laboratory policies and procedures.
• Communicate with clinicians and patients to provide technical advice and ensure proper delivery of appliances.
• Engage effectively with healthcare staff and maintain focus during appliance fabrication.
