Job summary

Bamford Contract Services Ltd is seeking a Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Worker for their Middleton production site. You will join a skilled team and perform general sheet metal fabrication and assembly to meet exacting standards.

Applicants should have at least 2 years in sheet metal or fabrication, with experience reading drawings and operating hand and power tools. Overtime opportunities and a stable permanent role are on offer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in sheet metal or fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Basic Maths and English skills.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general sheet metal fabrication and assembly work.

• Perform countersinking, tapping, PEM insertion (Pemsert), spot welding and stud welding to a high standard.
• Assist with assembly and finishing of fabricated components.
• Maintain quality standards and attention to detail.
• Work as part of a busy production team.
• Follow company health and safety procedures.

Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Worker

Location: Middleton, Manchester
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: £13.74 - £14.26 per hour (depending on experience)

Our client is a well-established precision sheet metal manufacturer with over 60 years of experience delivering high-quality, high-volume components to a wide range of industries.

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced, reliable and hardworking Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking long-term employment within a professional and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general sheet metal fabrication and assembly work.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Perform countersinking, tapping, PEM insertion (Pemsert), spot welding and stud welding to a high standard.
• Assist with the assembly and finishing of fabricated components.
• Maintain excellent quality standards and attention to detail.
• Work effectively as part of a busy production team.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 2 years' experience within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
• Proven experience in:
• Countersinking
• Tapping
• PEM insertion (Pemsert)
• Spot welding
• Stud welding
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Basic Maths and English skills.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Working Hours

• Monday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
• Tuesday - Thursday: 7:40am - 5:30pm
• Friday: 7:40am - 3:50pm
• Saturday: 6:00am - 2:00pm (when required)

Overtime is paid at 1.5x the hourly rate after 38 hours worked.
