Job summary

Americold UK seeks a General Manager to own a large-scale logistics and warehouse operation in Spalding, delivering reliable, efficient, and safe service. You will lead a high-performing team, manage a significant P&L, and drive operational excellence across warehousing, transport, and fulfilment.

You'll oversee daily operations, develop teams, enforce standards, and maintain a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven senior leadership or general management experience in logistics/warehousing, preferably temperature-controlled.
• Strong transport and warehouse management knowledge with cost-improvement track record.
• Leads large teams, develops talent, drives performance and safety compliance.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma methods to improve processes and productivity.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations, ensuring service, safety and costs meet targets.
• Develop teams, coach supervisors and drive a safety-first culture.
• Own P&L and drive Lean Six Sigma initiatives to improve flow and costs.
• Collaborate with HR, Engineering and Business Development to align with goals.
• Act as operational point of contact for key customer accounts and contracts.
