Marston's PLC is seeking a General Manager for The Talbot in Atherton, a high-volume community pub with a strong food and sports offer. You will lead from the front and drive success in a wet-led environment.

The Talbot trades around £28,000 weekly (60/40 wet vs food) with about 700 covers per week, and offers management accommodation and access to our award-winning training and development. Salary is up to £45k plus bonus and a generous benefits package, reflecting the scope to grow sales,

Job description

We're looking for a General Manager for a recently refurbished high volume pub in Atherton. With a salary up to £45k plus bonus and a generous benefits package.

About the pub

The Talbot in Atherton is a high-volume community pub with a strong food and sports offer, trading at around £28,000 per week with a 60/40 split towards wet sales and approximately 700 covers a week. The pub has a brilliant two-door layout, with a large dining space, separate sports bar and dedicated external dining area, giving the next General Manager a great platform to drive both family-friendly food occasions and wet-led sport, events and local trade.

Now in its second year following capex investment, there is still plenty of opportunity to grow sales further through stronger links with the local community, sports teams and regular events. We're looking for a confident, hands-on General Manager with experience in wet-led pubs, sport and branded food who can lead from the front, build a great team culture and make The Talbot the go-to pub in Atherton for food, drink, sport and good times.

Management accommodation is available in the form of 3 double bedrooms, with separate bathroom and a open plan kitchen living room, with separate access.
