Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services (Uk) Plc is seeking a senior operations leader to manage the Isle of Wight contract, including the Lynbottom Waste Management Facility and Afton Marsh HWRC. You will oversee a team of managers and around 120 staff, ensuring safety, compliance and performance in line with contract targets.

Job description

• Lead the Isle of Wight Contract as Veolia's Contract Representative, managing senior-level relationships with the client including contract meetings, performance reporting, and negotiation of variations.
• Direct operational responsibility for Lynbottom Waste Management Facility and Afton Marsh HWRC, including municipal, clinical and commercial collections and a fleet of approximately 40 vehicles.
• Direct team management of 8 managers, with approximately 120 employees falling within overall operational responsibility, including leading development and succession plans.
• Full P&L responsibility for the contract owning the contract budget and producing business plans for new projects and contract variations.
• Ensure service delivery in line with contract specification, monitor and achieve Veolia's operational KPIs, deliver client reporting requirements and contractual targets, and maintain service availability across all sites.
• Ensure Health and Safety, Environmental and legal compliance for all operations, deliver the contract's recycling and diversion targets, and identify opportunities for continued innovation and process improvements.
• Act as a member of the leadership team, contributing to business strategy and making decisions that affect revenue, contract retention, compliance and Veolia's reputation., We're also committed to ensuring that all applicants and colleagues receive fair treatment without discrimination on any grounds, aiming to create a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
  Ideally experience managing a collection service or integrated waste contract of similar scale, with demonstrated success in contract delivery and client management.
• Advanced financial management skills with full P&L management experience, including budget ownership, business planning, and financial decision-making.
• Experience leading large multi-sites operational teams, with strong capabilities in team management, performance management, and talent development.
• Strong client liaison skills at senior level, ideally with local authority experience, with ability to negotiate and manage complex contractual relationships.
• Advanced business acumen with strategic planning capabilities, informed decision-making skills, and ability to identify and implement continuous improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Flexible and agile leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, adapt to changing circumstances, and lead in a complex, regulated environment.
