Job summary

General Foreman

Are you an experienced General Foreman with a background in highways looking for your next freelance opportunity?

A new freelance opportunity has become available for a General Foreman based in Oxfordshire, working on planned highways term maintenance across the area.

The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of site activities and gangs, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

The schemes will cover a variety of highways maintenance and civils works, including:

• Road repairs and replacement
• Footway repairs and replacement
• Drainage, ditches and grips
• Kerbs and edgings
• Road markings
• Modular surfaces
• Traffic management
• Reactive repairs

You’ll be working across multiple locations, coordinating site teams and subcontractors while ensuring works are completed in line with programme, quality and health & safety requirements.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a General Foreman / Foreman within highways
• Strong understanding of highways maintenance and civils works
• Experience supervising gangs and subcontractors
• Good understanding of health & safety and site documentation
• CSCS
• SMSTS or SSSTS
• First Aid
