TipTopJob is partnering with a network of secondary schools in Bury St Edmunds and West Suffolk to provide day-to-day and long-term cover across Key Stage 3 and 4. We welcome QTS/QTLS teachers looking for flexible opportunities and a balanced workload.

Ideal candidates will have strong classroom management, adaptability across subjects, and a professional approach. DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain is preferred, with competitive daily rates and local support.

Key Responsibilities

• Step into diverse secondary classrooms to deliver pre-set work across a range of subjects, maintaining high expectations for learning and pupil engagement.
• Create a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment using effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
• Adapt learning delivery to accommodate students with diverse learning styles and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Leave clear, professional handover notes for regular class teachers when fulfilling day:to:day cover assignments.
• For long:term roles: take ownership of subject delivery, plan, assess, and mark work, participate in department meetings, and contribute to parents evenings as required.

What We Look For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (or recognised UK teaching qualification).
• Strong classroom management skills and the confidence to step into unfamiliar secondary settings with ease.
• Broad curriculum knowledge across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a flexible, proactive attitude.
