Welcome to BaxterStorey, Oxford. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our catering and hospitality operation within a prestigious college environment, delivering exceptional service and commercial performance.

You will build high-performing teams, drive guest experiences, and ensure operational excellence across foodservice, hospitality, and retail services, while maintaining our standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience as a General Manager or senior catering leader.
• Strong financial and commercial understanding.
• Exceptional leadership and people development skills.
• Passion for food, service and memorable customer experiences.
• Experience managing large teams and multiple service streams.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Food Safety and Health & Safety qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team across catering, hospitality, and retail services.
• Manage the day-to-day operation and overall performance of the contract.
• Deliver exceptional customer and student experiences.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, labour costs, and financial performance.
• Drive innovation and continuously improve food and service offerings.
• Build relationships with college stakeholders and clients.
• Ensure Health & Safety, Food Safety and compliance standards are met.
• Support hospitality and special events throughout the academic year.

Job Description

As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the foodservice operation, ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, financial performance, and compliance across the site.
