King’s College School Wimbledon in London is recruiting a General Catering Assistant to join a team of 38 in the catering department. The role supports the delivery of lunches to over 1,750 people daily during term time and at school events throughout the term.

This term-time only position is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £25,716 plus excellent benefits including contributory pension, health benefits, free gym membership and free lunch during term-time.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering is desirable; training can be provided.

King’s is looking to appoint a general catering assistant to work within a team of 38 staff in the catering department. Working in a modern well-equipped environment this position assists the delivery of lunches to over 1750 people on a daily basis during term time and regular school functions throughout the term.

This is a term time only role working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

The successful candidate should have:

• the ability to work within a team in a fast-paced, pressurised kitchen environment whilst maintaining high standards
• good communication skills with an approachable manner - contact with pupils and staff is on a daily basis and maintaining open communication is essential
• experience of catering is desirable, but full training can be provided
• basic knowledge of food hygiene would be an advantage, but full training can be offered
• an understanding of allergy awareness is preferred along with level 2 food hygiene training, but full training will be provided (desirable)
