Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a GCSE Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 support to students across the BCP area on behalf of Local Authorities. The role involves tailoring sessions to GCSE subjects such as English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Languages, with flexible hours and potential long-term placements.

Ideal candidates will have GCSE tutoring experience, strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to travel locally within the BCP area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, TA, mentoring or similar).
• Experience supporting learners at GCSE level.
• Strong knowledge in one or more GCSE subjects.
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions.
• DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver preferred, or willingness to travel locally across the BCP area.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 support to GCSE students across the BCP area.
• Deliver sessions across English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages or other GCSE subjects.

Support Students Through Their GCSE Journey

We're looking for a GCSE Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 support to children and young people across the BCP area.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision and benefit from a tailored approach to learning. Many students are working towards GCSE qualifications and need additional support to build confidence, close gaps in learning, and achieve their academic goals.

Whether your expertise is in English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages, or other GCSE subjects, we'd love to hear from you.

Pay Rate: 25- 30 per hour

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
• Experience supporting learners at GCSE level
• Strong subject knowledge in one or more GCSE subjects
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across the BCP area
