Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a KS3 Tutor in the Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole area to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition for Key Stage 3 learners through local authority placements. The role focuses on re-engaging students who face barriers to learning and requires adaptable teaching methods to build confidence and progress.

You will work with learners with SEND or additional needs, plan engaging sessions, and travel locally across the BCP region.

Qualifications

• Experience in educational settings (tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of KS3 curriculum and ability to tailor sessions.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND or additional needs is desirable.

KS3 Tutor

Help Young People Re-Engage with Learning

We're looking for a KS3 Tutor to support children and young people across the BCP area through personalised 1:1 tuition. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored educational support to learners in Key Stage 3 who require alternative provision. Many of the students we support have experienced barriers to education and benefit from a flexible, supportive approach that helps build confidence, improve engagement, and encourage academic progress.

This is a fantastic opportunity for education professionals who enjoy working closely with learners and adapting their approach to meet individual needs.

Hours: Flexible

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
• Experience supporting secondary-aged learners
• Strong knowledge of the KS3 curriculum
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across the BCP area
