Job summary

Homeprotect is looking for an enthusiastic Data Engineer to join the team building a new GCP data analytics platform. You will architect and deliver production-grade data pipelines, dbt transformations, and dimensional models to enable trusted business insights.

You’ll report to the Head of Data Engineering, collaborate across data, engineering and platform teams, and help ensure reliable ingestion, scalable processing and measurable value for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer building production-grade data pipelines.
• 2+ years on GCP in a production environment.
• Deep dbt expertise with layered projects and robust testing.
• Strong dimensional modelling delivering facts and conformed dimensions.
• Experience with BigQuery, GCS, Cloud Run/Functions, and Airflow.
• Experience designing pipelines with CDC, APIs, SFTP, and streaming ingestion.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum rituals.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end data products on GCP from sources to curated datasets and outputs.
• Build and operate ingestion pipelines with reliable, scalable patterns.
• Develop and maintain dbt transformations with correctness and cost control.
• Design dimensional models and star schemas for analytics at scale.
• Translate business needs into dimensional designs and dbt models.
• Collaborate in an Agile delivery cadence to drive value.
• Ensure production-grade pipelines with observability and resilience.
