Job summary

Bits In Glass UK is seeking a GCP Infrastructure Engineer to architect, provision, and maintain secure, scalable cloud environments for financial sector clients. The role focuses on building data platforms on Google Cloud Platform, delivering batch and streaming pipelines with Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering with senior/lead experience.
• Proven experience on GCP data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer).
• Strong Python and SQL skills; Spark/Beam experience.
• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, Cloud Build).
• Strong knowledge of data security in regulated environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms on GCP for financial clients.
• Develop batch and streaming data pipelines using Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
• Architect data lake, data warehouse, and lakehouse solutions with BigQuery.
• Provision and manage data infrastructure using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement data governance, lineage, quality, and cataloging frameworks.
• Apply security best practices across data environments (IAM, encryption, KMS, masking).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve platform performance and data quality issues.
• Collaborate with client teams and internal stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers and promote DataOps and engineering best practices.
• Communicate architecture decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
