Job summary

RWS in Maidenhead is seeking a Principal Data Platform Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a scalable GCP data platform, serving as the most senior technical authority.

You will own infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and data pipelines, building a repeating, secure, cost-effective platform and pushing AI-assisted delivery to accelerate analytics and AI pipelines. This role partners with Analytics and AI teams to unlock global language services.

Qualifications

• Terraform expert with automated build and deployment pipelines.
• Strong GCP expertise including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, Cloud Composer and Pub/Sub.
• Cloud security: IAM, RBAC, VPC design and firewall config.
• Proficient in Python and Java/Scala.
• Hands-on ELT/ETL with Apache Spark.

Responsibilities

• Architect the GCP Data Platform for analytics and AI across RWS.
• Build modular Terraform codebases for fast, repeatable provisioning.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines with auditable deployments for infra and data code.
• Engineer data pipelines using native GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, Cloud Composer).
• Scale delivery with AI agents to accelerate engineering throughput.
