Job summary

WPP Media seeks a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery and Cloud Storage, plus Snowflake. You will transform complex business requirements into reliable data assets and collaborate across analytics, product, and engineering teams.

You will work on data quality, governance, and monitoring, delivering on the data engineering roadmap while supporting data consumers with APIs and BI tool

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with production data pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills and data transformation capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud, BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
• Experience with DBT (data build tool) for modular data models.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and pipeline development.
• Familiarity with digital advertising data and analytics workflows.
• Excellent collaboration and communication in cross-functional teams.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
• Experience supporting data visualization tools (Power BI) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using GCP services like BigQuery and Cloud Storage, and Snowflake.
• Develop, test, and deploy data transformation logic using SQL and DBT.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to translate data requirements into specs.
• Implement data quality and governance processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Contribute to the data engineering roadmap and key initiatives.
• Develop and maintain monitoring for pipeline performance and data freshness.
• Optimize pipelines and queries for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Support data consumers by exposing data via APIs and integrations with BI tools like Power BI.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for pipelines and models.
• Participate in code reviews and share expertise within the team.
