Job summary

DPD is seeking a reliable Gatehouse Operative to join our Hub Security team in the East Midlands. You will control access for DPD, subcontractors and delivery vehicles, communicate movements to other departments, and perform checks on vehicles and trailer seals.

Joining a team-focused environment, you will work across two hub locations if required, with varied shifts and a strong emphasis on security and customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar gatehouse/security role is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure only authorised vehicles have access and egress to the site.
• Communicate vehicle movements to other departments.
• Conduct physical checks of vehicle details and seals.
• Check all reported empty trailers arriving or departing.
• Verify trailer locking systems are functioning.
• Work as part of a team to ensure gatehouse security and customer service.
• Coordinate activities between contractors, staff and visitors.
• Liaise with emergency services and third-party organisations.
