Isle of Wight NHS Trust in Newport invites a Consultant in Gastroenterology to join our team in delivering outpatient, inpatient and endoscopic gastroenterology services at a district general hospital.

The post supports flexible working where part-time or job-share may be considered; includes teaching, supervision of junior staff, involvement in accreditation, and national NICE-aligned development of the gastroenterology service.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient, inpatient and endoscopic gastroenterology services.
• Participate in teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contribute to undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education locally and nationally.
• Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff, ensuring observance of local employment and HR policies.
• Contribute to development of the gastroenterology service in line with national and NICE frameworks.
