Job summary

Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic gastroenterologist to join the team providing outpatient, inpatient and endoscopic gastroenterology services. The post is full-time, with flexibility for part-time or job-share pending personalised planning with the appointee.

Qualifications

Full GMC Registration with a License to Practice.
Higher UK qualification - MRCP or equivalent recognised by the GMC.
Entry on the GMC specialist register via CCT (proposed CCT date within 6 months of interview), CESR or European Community rights.
Knowledge and application of up-to-date evidence-based practice.
Ability to full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
Higher Degree either Masters or Doctorate level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provision of a high-quality comprehensive district general hospital gastroenterology service including endoscopy with responsibility for prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
Participate in ongoing development of the gastroenterology service in line with NICE frameworks.
Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff following local HR policies.
Teaching, examination and accreditation duties and contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education.
