Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist to join a well-established team delivering gastroenterology services across Lister Hospital and affiliated sites. The post includes 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) and participation in a 1 in 12 GI bleeding and emergency endoscopy on‑call rota.

The successful applicant will work with 12 Gastroenterologists and 4 Hepatologists, developing services across the Trust and contributing to high-quality patient

Qualifications

• GMC Specialist Register entry or imminent eligibility at interview.
• MRCP or equivalent level qualification.
• Broad range of Gastroenterology experience including GI bleeding and endoscopy.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of high-quality patient centered care.
• Shared responsibility for day-to-day management of the service and strategic planning.
• Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service.
• Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity.
• Active participation in continuing medical education.
