We are currently seeking x2 Gas Technicians (4 on 4 off shift pattern) to join our busy team. Although primarily based in and around Halifax, the role will involve work across all areas of the group where required. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for carrying out all types of repairs on heating and hot water systems to both tenanted and vacant properties in accordance with job tickets, opti-time appointment slots, specifications, contract drawings, and applicable regulations. This includes adhering to good practice, building regulations, and safety standards to ensure high-quality and compliant work. Furthermore, the position requires the efficient completion of tasks, typically during a single visit, while also offering support to trainees and apprentices, as well as handling materials, equipment, and company vehicles responsibly.

Requirements

Outline of key responsibilities for the Gas Technician...

• Carry out repairs on heating and hot water systems in accordance with job tickets, specifications, and regulations.
• Complete repairs with a 'Right First Time' ethos, aiming to resolve issues in one visit with quality workmanship.
• Maintain accurate records, either paper-based or electronic.
• Undertake measurement, quantification, and procurement of materials.
• Prioritize customer care, ensuring work protects tenants’ belongings, and communicate politely and helpfully with tenants.
• Perform risk assessments before starting work, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
• Diagnose repair issues efficiently, minimizing materials and time wastage.
• Be multi-skilled within the team, especially in related trade functions for prime Gas jobs.

Candidate requirements include:

• A Full Manual UK Driving License
• ACS certifications: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1, DAH1, CPA1, UDHW
• City and Guilds Craft Certificate in Gas Maintenance or equivalent (NVQ Level 3)
• Experience with renewable energy systems such as heat pumps is advantageous, aligning with our sustainability goals.
• Proven experience as a qualified Gas Technician in building repairs and maintenance.
• Experience with domestic gas appliances, fault finding, and servicing.
• Ability to maximize job completion efficiency and repairs in one visit.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to building repairs.
• Excellent customer service skills and experience working directly with clients.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills for documentation and certification purposes.
