Job summary

Construction Site Recruitment requires a reliable back-up driver to support gas mains replacement teams with driving cover and site logistics. You will transfer SLG equipment, assist with safe placement and handling, and help move materials and tools between sites and yards.

Role focuses on safe driving, operating procedures, and flexible support across operational delivery on construction sites.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Full UK driving licence suitable for the vehicles operated.
• NRSWA/Street Works certification for SLG activities is required.
• Good driving record with commitment to safety and compliance.
• Reliable, flexible and able to respond to changing operational needs.
• Able to work independently and as part of a delivery team.

Responsibilities

• Provide driving cover for gas mains replacement teams as required.
• Deliver and transfer SLG equipment to and from sites.
• Assist with SLG placement, checking and removal when trained.
• Collect and transfer materials, tools, plant and equipment for operations.
• Move vehicles and equipment between sites and the yard.
• Ensure vehicles are operated safely and legally at all times.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects immediately.
• Maintain vehicles in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
• Support site teams with general operational duties when not driving.
• Coordinate materials and equipment collection from suppliers and stores.
• Help ensure sites have required materials and SLG to maintain productivity.
