Job summary

Sureserve is seeking a reliable Gas Engineer to service and maintain heating and hot water systems across the Wirral region. You will diagnose faults, complete repairs, and perform planned maintenance while delivering a high standard of workmanship and exceptional customer service.

Applicants should hold valid domestic gas qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1), a UK driving licence, and experience in domestic gas maintenance. The role includes on-call duties and a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1) are required.
• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience with gas maintenance in a domestic setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of gas safety regulations and industry standards.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Professional and friendly attitude with good client/tenant relationships.

Salary: £35,875 - £45,000 based on experience (with £45,000 being the average of OTE inc. callout)

Location: Wirral, covering all CH postcodes

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40

Working pattern: Monday to Friday with on-call requirements

Holiday entitlement: 20 + Bank Holidays (increases with service)

About the role

Responsible for ensuring heating and hot water systems are operating safely, efficiently and reliably, helping customers stay comfortable in their homes. You'll diagnose faults, complete repairs, carry out planned maintenance, and provide a high standard of workmanship while delivering excellent customer service at every visit.

What youll be doing

• Carry out service and maintenance works on a variety of domestic properties across the region
• Ensuring high levels of customer care in dealing with clients and tenants to meet the required quality standards
• Communicate updates and progress of work, completing the required paperwork electronically and manually

What were looking for

• Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications. As a minimum, successful candidates must have the following: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (essential)
• Valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Previous practical experience in gas maintenance within a domestic capacity
• Solid understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• A professional and friendly attitude with the ability to forge strong relationships with both clients and tenants
