Sureserve Group PLC in Manchester is recruiting a Gas Engineer to service and maintain domestic heating and hot water systems, diagnose faults and perform planned maintenance with a high standard of workmanship. You’ll work across the region with on-site visits, strong customer service, and regulatory compliance at the core.

Requirements include CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 and a valid UK driving licence. Permanent contract, 40 hours per week, with on-call requirements and 20 holidays plus bank

Qualifications

• Minimum CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 and CKR1 qualifications.
• UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience in domestic gas maintenance and understanding of gas safety regulations.

Salary: £35,875 - £45,000 (with £45,000 being the average of OTE inc. callout) Location: Manchester covering M3, M5, M6, M7, M27, M28, M30, M38, M44, M50 areas Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: 40 Working pattern: Monday to Friday with on-call requirements Holiday entitlement : 20 + Bank Holidays (increases with service).

About the role

Responsible for ensuring heating and hot water systems are operating safely, efficiently and reliably, helping customers stay comfortable in their homes. You'll diagnose faults, complete repairs, carry out planned maintenance, and provide a high standard of workmanship while delivering excellent customer service at every visit.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out service and maintenance works on a variety of domestic properties across the region.


• Ensuring high levels of customer care in dealing with clients and tenants to meet the required quality standards.


• Communicate updates and progress of work, completing the required paperwork electronically and manually.

What we're looking for

Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications. As a minimum, successful candidates must have the following:

• CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (essential)


• Valid UK driving licence (essential)


• Previous practical experience in gas maintenance within a domestic capacity


• Solid understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards


• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently


• A professional and friendly attitude with the ability to forge strong relationships with both clients and tenants
