Job summary

Sureserve is seeking a qualified gas maintenance technician to ensure heating and hot water systems in domestic properties are safe, efficient and reliable. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, carry out planned maintenance, and deliver high workmanship with excellent customer service across Wirral.

The role requires CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (essential) and a valid UK driving licence. You will work on a permanent, full-time basis with 40 hours per week and occasional on-call duties.

Qualifications

• CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 and CKR1 qualifications are essential.
• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Strong understanding of gas safety regulations and standards.

Salary: £35,875 - £42,460 per annum

Location: Wirral, covering all CH postcodes

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40

Working pattern: Monday to Friday with on-call requirements

Holiday entitlement: 20 + Bank Holidays (increases with service)

Planned start date: 1st September 2026

About The Role

Responsible for ensuring heating and hot water systems are operating safely, efficiently and reliably, helping customers stay comfortable in their homes. You'll diagnose faults, complete repairs, carry out planned maintenance, and provide a high standard of workmanship while delivering excellent customer service at every visit.

• Carry out service and maintenance works on a variety of domestic properties across the region

• Communicate updates and progress of work, completing the required paperwork electronically and manually

What We’re Looking For

• Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications. As a minimum, successful candidates must have the following: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (essential)
• Valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Previous practical experience in gas maintenance within a domestic capacity
• Solid understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• A professional and friendly attitude with the ability to forge strong relationships with both clients and tenants
