Job summary

Sureserve is recruiting a Gas Heating Engineer to service and maintain domestic heating systems across Blackburn and surrounding areas. You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs and planned maintenance, delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.

The role requires CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 qualifications, a valid UK driving license and proven experience in domestic gas maintenance. Working hours are 40 per week with on-call requirements; permanent contract.

Responsibilities

Salary: £35,875 - £45,000 (with £45,000 being the average of OTE inc. callout)

Location: Blackburn covering BB1, BB2, BB3, BB4, BB5 areas

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40

Working pattern: Monday to Friday with on-call requirements

Holiday entitlement: 20 + Bank Holidays (increases with service)

About the role

Responsible for ensuring heating and hot water systems are operating safely, efficiently and reliably, helping customers stay comfortable in their homes. You'll diagnose faults, complete repairs, carry out planned maintenance, and provide a high standard of workmanship while delivering excellent customer service at every visit.

What we’re looking for

• Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications. As a minimum, successful candidates must have the following: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (essential)
• Valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Previous practical experience in gas maintenance within a domestic capacity
• Solid understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• A professional and friendly attitude with the ability to forge strong relationships with both clients and tenants
