Job summary

SGN is launching an Apprenticeship for an Emergency Gas Responder across Southern England with sites in Oxford, Banbury, Bicester, and surrounding towns. Start date 18 January 2027, earning £29.2k per year while you learn and gain qualifications.

You will train over 3 years, attend college blocks, and progress toward Gas Safe Registration. The role includes shift work, standby, and potential overtime with benefits like pension and life cover.

Qualifications

• 3 National 5 grades A-C or equivalent (Maths & English) required.
• Wilingness to commit to up to 3 years of training and education.
• Must be able to drive or obtain licence within 6–12 months of joining.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reported gas emergencies.
• Installation and replacement of gas meters.
• Installing, testing and commissioning internal gas pipework.
• Promoting health and safety in gas service/repair activities.
