Job summary

Example Recruitment is seeking a Domestic Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer in Portsmouth to diagnose faults on domestic boilers and heating systems, perform breakdown repairs, servicing, and LGSRs. You will work standard hours (42.5 per week) with an on-call rota, earning a competitive base salary of £42,000–£48,000, plus a company van and fuel card.

Qualifications

• Domestic ACS qualification is essential.
• Full, clean UK driving licence needed.
• Experience in social housing preferred but not required.
• Strong technical knowledge of boilers and heating systems.

Overview

Domestic Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer – Portsmouth

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and fault-finding on domestic boilers and heating systems
• Completing breakdown jobs, repairs, servicing, and LGSRs
• Ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction

Hours & On-Call

• Standard Hours: 42.5 per week (8am – 5:30pm)
• On-Call Rota: 1 in 4
• Standby Allowance: Mon–Fri £20 / Sat & Sun £30
• Call-Outs: £25 per job attended
• Overtime: £25 per job after 5:30pm
