Job summary

Peabody is seeking an experienced Gas Engineer to deliver safe, high-quality repairs and exceptional customer service in residents' homes. You will carry out gas installations, servicing and fault finding to the highest standards.

Working in occupied homes, you will complete certifications, maintain records and ensure compliance with Gas Safe regulations, building strong resident relationships and supporting the out-of-hours rota when required.

Qualifications

  • Gas Safe Core Certification (CCN1) required.
  • Central heating boilers (CEN1) certification required.
  • Cookers and hobs (CKR1) certification required.
  • Gas fires (HTR1) certification required.
  • Water heaters (WAT1) certification required.
  • Flue gas analysis (CPA1) certification required.
  • Unvented hot water cylinders (UHW) certification required.
  • Experience installing, servicing and repairing a range of boiler makes.
  • Competence in central heating control wiring in line with Part P regulations.
  • Experience working in occupied residential properties.
  • Awareness of manual handling, ladder safety, and health & safety requirements

Responsibilities

  • Carry out gas installations, servicing, repairs and fault finding within domestic properties.
  • Commission appliances and complete certification and documentation (Benchmark and LGSR).
  • Install and maintain unvented hot water systems and perform power flushing.
  • Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe regulations and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate job records and compliance documentation.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of customer issues and provide effective solutions and updates.
  • Maintain van stock levels and order materials per company specs.
  • Report safety concerns or regulatory contraventions promptly.
  • Participate in Out of Hours standby rota to support emergencies.

Gas Engineer – Deliver Safe, High-Quality Repairs and Exceptional Customer Service

Are you an experienced Gas Engineer who takes pride in delivering excellent workmanship and customer service? At Peabody, you'll play a vital role in keeping our residents safe and comfortable by carrying out gas installations, servicing, repairs and fault finding to the highest standards.

Working within occupied homes, you'll be responsible for delivering a professional, compliant and customer-focused service, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with current regulations and manufacturer requirements.

What you'll do
  • Carry out gas installations, servicing, repairs and fault finding within domestic properties
  • Commission appliances and complete all required certification and documentation, including Benchmark and LGSR certificates

  • Maintain appropriate van stock levels and ensure materials are ordered in line with company specifications

  • Participate in the Out of Hours (OOH) standby rota to support emergency response requirements
What you’ll need
  • CCN1 – ACS Gas Safe Core Gas Safety Certificate

  • CKR1 – ACS Gas Safe Cookers and Hobs
  • HTR1 – ACS Gas Safe Gas Fires
  • WAT1 – ACS Gas Safe Water Heaters
  • CPA1 – ACS Gas Safe Flue Gas Analysis
  • UHW – Unvented Hot Water Cylinders
  • Experience installing, servicing and repairing a range of boiler makes and models
  • Competence in central heating control wiring in line with Part P regulations
  • Experience working within occupied residential properties
  • Awareness of manual handling, ladder safety, working at height, abrasive wheels, first aid and Health & Safety requirements
  • Part L and Part P qualifications desirable
