Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd in London is seeking a skilled Gas Engineer to service and repair domestic gas systems under a housing contract across Brockley and Canning Town. The position is permanent, full-time with typical hours and a salary in the £40,000 to £43,000 per year band.

You will carry out LGSR/CP12 inspections, diagnose faults, issue CP12 certificates, and ensure compliance with Gas Safe regulations and safety obligations.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe qualifications and knowledge required.
• Experience with LGSR/CP12 in domestic properties.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out LGSR visits and CP12 inspections within domestic properties to ensure gas safety and compliance.
• Inspecting, testing, servicing, and certifying gas-fired boilers, central heating and hot water systems, appliances, flues, and associated pipework.
• Diagnosing faults and undertaking reactive repairs to gas-fired boilers and heating systems, restoring systems to safe operation.
• Identifying unsafe appliances, installations, defects, and other compliance issues; taking action to make systems safe and recommending remedial works.
• Issuing CP12 certificates and completing service, repair, and compliance documentation accurately and within timescales.
• Maintaining accurate electronic job records and ensuring all work complies with Gas Safe regulations and safety standards.
• Providing professional and customer-focused service to tenants, residents, landlords, and clients, explaining work undertaken and any further action required.
• Managing daily appointments, planned servicing, and reactive call-outs to meet compliance targets.

Salary: £40,000 - £43,000 per annum

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Gas Engineer to provide servicing and repairs for a local housing contract across Brockley and Canning Town.

Responsibilities:

• Carrying out Landlord Gas Safety Record (LGSR) visits and CP12 inspections within domestic properties to ensure gas safety and compliance requirements are met.

• Inspecting, testing, servicing, and certifying gas-fired boilers, central heating and hot water systems, appliances, flues, and associated pipework in accordance with current legislation and manufacturer requirements.
• Diagnosing faults and undertaking reactive repairs to gas-fired boilers and heating systems, rectifying issues during the initial visit wherever possible and restoring systems to safe and effective operation.
• Identifying unsafe appliances, installations, defects, and other compliance issues, taking appropriate action to make systems safe and recommending further remedial works where necessary.
• Issuing CP12 certificates and completing service, repair, and compliance documentation accurately and within required timescales.
• Maintaining accurate electronic job records and ensuring all work complies with Gas Safe regulations, Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, and required quality standards.
• Providing a professional and customer-focused service to tenants, residents, landlords, and clients, clearly explaining work undertaken, faults identified, and any further action required.
• Managing daily appointments, planned servicing, and reactive call-outs effectively to meet compliance targets, response times, and service-level requirements.

Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence (manual)
• CCN1 - Core Domestic Gas Safety
• CENWAT - Domestic Gas Central Heating, Boilers and Water Heaters
• CKR1 - Domestic Gas Cookers
• HTR1 - Domestic Gas Fires and Wall Heaters
