Job summary

Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited, part of Sanctuary Housing, is recruiting two Gas Engineers in London. You will install, service and repair gas central heating systems, with out-of-hours callouts on a roster.

The role requires relevant gas certifications, a valid UK driving licence, and a commitment to safety and high service standards. The salary ranges from £47,778 to £50,293 per year, with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm and overtime on a rota.

Qualifications

  • Required certifications: CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1, Unvented - G3 and WRAS, or currently undertaking the qualification.
  • Proven experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions.
  • Working knowledge of installation, servicing and maintenance of gas heating systems.
  • Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling.
  • Recent experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out fault fixing, maintenance, installation duties and commissioning of gas central heating systems.
  • Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice easily understood by customers and maintaining daily records.
  • Responding to complaints and service breakdowns to meet customer expectations.
  • Resolving problems or initiating resolution actions while keeping customers informed.
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and stocks replenished as needed.

We have an opportunity for two highly motivated Gas Engineers to join our team, based in London. You will carry out installations, servicing and repairs on a wide range of different systems. Out of hour emergency call outs are part of the role and are managed amongst the team on a rota basis.

The role of Gas Engineer will include:
  • Carrying out fault fixing, maintenance, installation duties and commissioning of gas central heating systems
  • Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed
  • Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
  • Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed
Skills and experiences:
  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1, Unvented - G3 Certificate, and Water Regulations (WRAS), or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
  • Proven experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Working knowledge of the installation, servicing and maintenance of gas heating systems
  • Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
