Job summary

First Group in London is seeking four Garage Duty Supervisors based at Wandsworth Garage to oversee safe, efficient bus run-out/run-in operations and depot duties.

You will ensure correct vehicle coverage, allocate routes, perform pre-service checks and liaise with Engineering teams to keep services punctual. You may also conduct drugs and alcohol testing and support administration tasks to keep the site running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Valid PCV licence required.
• Good attendance record and reliability.
• Proficiency in IT systems and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bus run-out/run-in during shifts.
• Ensure correct number of vehicles and allocation to routes.
• Conduct pre-service checks and contingency planning.
• Liaise with Engineering teams and iBus Control to coordinate operations.
• Carry out drugs and alcohol testing when required.
• Assist garage management with administration tasks.
• Manage return of buses and keep parking areas clear.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for four Garage Duty Supervisors to be based at Wandsworth Garage. You shall be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant bus run-out / run in and duties associated with the successful operations at a bus depot or their satellite sites.

You will need to ensure there is the correct number of vehicles required to cover the service operated for the duty and ensure correct allocation of vehicles to routes. As well as being the primary supervisory in charge during the allocated shift period, you will conduct pre-service checks to ensure a contingency is in place for late departure and allocate support vehicles, if needed.

Your strong written and verbal communication skills will help you liaise with the Engineering teams and iBus Control to ensure that the run out and run in operates efficiently, making sure that the buses are correctly prepared and plated, assisting drivers as required.

Furthermore, you shall be responsible to carry out drugs and alcohol testing when required. Also, assist the Garage management team with various administration tasks. In addition, you will manage the allocation of returning buses ensuring that car parking areas are clear as possible and buses parked safely and in accordance with parking plan.

• Hold a valid PCV Licence
