Co-op Funeralcare Folkestone is seeking a dedicated Funeral Service Driver to join our caring team. You will collect the deceased, transport coffins, and support preparation for viewings and funerals while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.

You don't need prior funeral industry experience; full training and benefits are provided. Expect a 37.5-hour week with on-call shifts evenings and weekends on a 1-in-10 rota.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK manual driving licence.
• Able to perform physical aspects of the role with training provided.
• Strong IT skills and ability to learn new apps and systems.
• Ability to remain calm and compassionate in emotional situations.
• Excellent attention to detail and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations in a professional, empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on the funeral day and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client records with timely, accurate information.
• Follow safe handling procedures to prevent injuries.
