Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in Folkestone is seeking a Funeral Service Crew member to support families in saying a meaningful goodbye. You will collect the deceased, drive funeral vehicles, prepare coffins and viewings, and ensure equipment and records meet health and safety standards.

Full training is provided with no prior funeral experience required, and a strong benefits package including pension and holidays. A full UK manual driving licence and the ability to perform physical tasks are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK manual driving licence.
• Able to perform physical duties including lifting.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Ability to stay calm and compassionate under pressure.
• Accurate and detail-oriented with regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from a range of locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on the day of the funeral and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased in our care for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications daily, inputting information to keep records updated.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins following safe techniques and health guidance.
