CTRG Limited in Torquay is seeking a Funeral Care Centre Assistant to support families and staff in our Care Centre. The role involves caring for ceremonial vehicles, coffin preparation, and compassionate service within a respectful environment.

You will work Monday to Friday 09:00–16:00, with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour, and you must have a valid UK manual driving license. The position emphasizes discretion, empathy, and safe, dignified handling.

Qualifications

• Full UK Manual Driving License Required.
• Being a team player, building and maintaining professional relationships.
• Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills utilising all available technology, when required.
• Willingness to learn new skills and approach challenges.
• Ability to carry out heavy lifting and manual handling from strained positions.
• Required to always act with discretion and empathy.
• The ability to react calmly and compassionately in emotional circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Clean Funeralcare vehicles on a day-to-day basis, including polish & wax routine.
• Move ceremonial vehicles within the Care Centre grounds (no public road driving).
• Assist in general housekeeping in both public and private areas; report any building and equipment maintenance to a manager.
• Fully prepare all types of coffins.
• Handle floral tributes with care.
• Report to the Care Logistics Management team and respond to instructions.
• Ensure you fully comply with all Health and Safety requirements and checks.
