Job summary

Attribution Search in London seeks an experienced Fund Controller to cover a 12-month maternity leave. Based in London, you will join the Structured Credit Fund Finance team and work with investment, IR, performance and operations teams.

You will own fund finance and reporting across structured and alternative credit strategies, including NAVs, financial statements, investor reporting, and fee calculations, with a hands-on, data-driven approach.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years' experience in financial services, ideally gained within alternative credit, structured credit, private credit or related investment environment.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA.
• A degree or equivalent academic background.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting and investment performance calculations.
• Excellent Excel and quantitative skills.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the production and review of fund NAVs, financial statements and investor capital account statements, working with third-party administrators.
• Calculating and analysing portfolio, fund, share-class and investor-level performance (IRR, MOIC, attribution).
• Preparing and reviewing investor and regulatory reporting.
• Calculating and reviewing management, performance and incentive fees for open-ended and closed-ended structures.
• Monitoring fund expenses and TERs.
• Ensuring data integrity across front-office systems and data warehouses.
• Coordinating with third-party administrators through annual audits.

Job description

A leading global alternative credit investment manager is looking to hire a Fund Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.

This is an opportunity to join a highly established and specialist investment platform with a global footprint and significant assets under management. The successful candidate will sit within the Structured Credit Fund Finance team in London, working closely with investment, investor relations, performance and operations teams.

The role offers broad exposure across fund accounting, performance analytics, investor reporting, fees, liquidity and data, making it particularly well suited to an experienced fund finance professional who enjoys a varied, hands-on role. You will take ownership of a range of fund finance and reporting activities across structured and alternative credit strategies.

Responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the production and review of fund NAVs, financial statements and investor capital account statements, working closely with third-party administrators.
• Calculating and analysing portfolio, fund, share-class and investor-level performance, including IRR and MOIC calculations and performance attribution.
• Preparing and reviewing investor and regulatory reporting.
• Calculating and reviewing management, performance and incentive fees, across both open-ended and closed-ended structures.
• Monitoring fund expenses and calculating Total Expense Ratios (TERs).
• Overseeing the accuracy and integrity of fund and asset-level data, ensuring information is correctly reflected across front-office systems and data warehouses.
• Managing relationships with third-party administrators throughout the annual audit process, ensuring funds are audited accurately and on time.
• Supporting liquidity and capital-flow management, including capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, redemptions and new investor closes.
• Monitoring FX exposures and hedging, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis.
• Working closely with Portfolio Management, Investor Relations, Marketing and Performance Analytics teams on regular and ad-hoc reporting and analysis.

To be considered you must be an experienced fund finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent analytical and communication skills.

You will ideally have:

• 7–10+ years' experience within financial services, ideally gained within alternative credit, structured credit, private credit or a related investment environment.
• A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA.
• A degree or equivalent academic background.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting and investment performance calculations.
• Excellent Excel and quantitative skills.
• Experience working with both open-ended and closed-ended funds would be advantageous.
• Exposure to alternative credit or structured credit assets is highly desirable.
