Job description

We are working with a rapidly growing global alternative investment manager to hire an Fund Accountant/Assistant Fund Controller into its London finance team.

The firm manages a range of private and liquid investment strategies, with a particular focus on private credit, special situations and private equity.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the earlier stages of their fund-finance career who wants to gain broader exposure within a sophisticated alternative investment platform.

Working closely with the Fund Controller, you will support a portfolio of predominantly open-ended private credit and private equity funds, gaining exposure across the full fund lifecycle rather than operating within a narrow accounting remit.

The role

You will be involved in:

  1. Oversight and review of NAVs and fund accounting produced by third-party administrators

  2. Investor allocations, subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls and distributions

  3. Quarterly and annual financial statements and investor reporting

  4. Fund valuations, including exposure to illiquid private credit and equity investments

  5. Cash and liquidity management, expense allocations and management-fee calculations

  6. Liaising with administrators, auditors, tax advisers, legal teams and other service providers

  7. Supporting investment teams and senior stakeholders with fund and transaction-related analysis

  8. Reviewing fund activity against LPAs, offering documents and side letters

  9. Improving controls, reporting and fund-finance processes

  10. Supporting automation, systems and AI-led initiatives as the finance function continues to evolve

The individual

We are looking for someone with a strong grounding in fund accounting, audit or fund financial reporting, ideally gained within an alternative investment manager, Big Four firm or leading fund administrator.

You are likely to have approximately 3-6 years' relevant experience and could be qualified or part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CA / CPA or equivalent.

Experience of private credit, private equity or another alternative investment strategy would be advantageous, although candidates with strong technical fund-accounting experience who are looking to develop their private-markets exposure will also be considered.
