Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a Functional Skills Maths Tutor in Towcester, Northamptonshire. The role is temp-to-perm in an Alternative Provision setting, delivering Maths sessions to students who may have struggled in mainstream education.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching Functional Skills or GCSE Maths, with a patient, engaging approach and the ability to adapt lessons. Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not offered.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Functional Skills Maths or GCSE Maths or similar curriculum.
• Teaching qualification desirable, though relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience with SEN, SEMH, behavioural needs or barriers to learning.
• Patient, engaging and flexible approach to teaching.
• Ability to build positive relationships and motivate disengaged students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and accessible Maths sessions to students.
• Support students to develop numeracy and work towards Functional Skills qualifications.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual abilities and needs.
• Build positive relationships and motivate students who may have disengaged from education.
