Job summary
STARK Building Materials UK at the Falkirk (FK2 9EF) branch is seeking a Yard Sales Assistant to join our full-time team. You will greet customers, assess their needs and deliver quick, friendly service while maintaining yard, counter and shop floor standards.
Working hours are Monday–Friday 7:30am–5:00pm and every other Saturday 8:00am–12:00pm. You’ll assist with loading/unloading, operate equipment safely, and support sales initiatives.
Qualifications
- Customer service skills with ability to assess needs.
- Ability to build relationships and understand customer requirements.
- Comfort with loading/offloading and operating within yard and shop floor.
Responsibilities
- Acknowledge every customer and provide quick, efficient service.
- Ask open questions to understand current and future needs.
- Maintain standards across yard, counter and shop floor.
- Operate machinery safely and perform offloading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles.
- Support initiatives to increase sales, margin & service.
- Develop knowledge of core and specialist product lines.
- Loading/unloading vehicles; forklift training provided.
