Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant across West Sussex and Surrey. A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential to support multiple schools in rural and suburban areas.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM during term-time, with consistent hours and ongoing placements. Ideal for experienced support staff, aspiring teachers, or those with childcare/youth work backgrounds seeking regular weekday work near home.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Driving Licence and access to a reliable vehicle (Essential).
• Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, term-time).
• Experience supporting children or young people in schools, nurseries, sports coaching, care, or youth work.

Responsibilities

• Working full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM) alongside classroom teachers.
• Leading small group intervention sessions in core literacy, phonics, and numeracy.
• Providing dedicated 1:1 learning and behavioural support for pupils with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH).
• Fostering an inclusive, encouraging, and safe classroom environment.
• Assisting with classroom setup, learning displays, and break-time supervision.
