Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Full-Time Teaching Assistant to support schools across West Sussex and Surrey. A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential to cover rural and suburban locations.

The role runs Monday to Friday during standard school hours, with ongoing term-time placement and opportunities for professional development. The successful candidate will assist with literacy, phonics, numeracy, and behaviour support, including 1:1 interventions for pupils

Looking for a stable, full-time classroom role across West Sussex or Surrey? We are seeking a reliable, adaptable Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term placement supporting schools across West Sussex and Surrey. Because our partner schools are spread across rural and suburban locations with varying public transport links, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this position.

This role provides consistent Monday-to-Friday school hours on an ongoing term-time contract. It is ideal for an experienced support assistant, an aspiring teacher, or someone with a background in childcare, care, or youth work who wants regular, full-time weekday work close to home.

Responsibilities

• Working full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM) alongside classroom teachers.


• Leading small group intervention sessions in core literacy, phonics, and numeracy.


• Providing dedicated 1:1 learning and behavioural support for pupils with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH).


• Fostering an inclusive, encouraging, and safe classroom environment.


• Assisting with classroom setup, learning displays, and break-time supervision.

Qualifications

• Driving Licence & Car: Valid UK Driving Licence and access to a reliable vehicle (Essential).


• Availability: Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, standard school hours).


• Experience: Prior experience supporting children or young people (in schools, nurseries, sports coaching, care, or youth work).


• Skills: Strong communication skills and confident foundational English and Maths.


• Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one) and valid Right to Work in the UK.
