Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant in Caldicot to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs in a mainstream primary school. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support and assist with classroom activities under the guidance of the class teacher.

The role is full-time and long-term with an immediate start. You will join a caring team dedicated to helping children develop confidence, independence and academic skills across the school day.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) / Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is essential.
• Experience working within a mainstream primary school environment.
• A good understanding of supporting pupils with different learning abilities and additional needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively alongside teaching staff.
• A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for supporting children's development.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils with ALN and assist with small group work.
• Assist with classroom activities and routines under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and academic skills throughout the school day.

The school is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment where children of all abilities are encouraged to develop their confidence, independence and academic skills.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis, with an immediate start available. The successful Teaching Assistant will be supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), providing both 1:1 and small group support, assisting with classroom activities and working closely with the class teacher to ensure pupils are fully supported throughout the school day.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) / Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is essential
• Experience working within a mainstream primary school environment
• A good understanding of supporting pupils with different learning abilities and additional needs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively alongside teaching staff
